Thanks for your comments and encouragement Justin and yes I agree that joining the dots is the difficult part. I am a feeling a bit discouraged at the moment as I look at the blogs of others (for instance your's!) which are just so sophisticated. I guess it's all a matter of keeping on keeping on!

Thanks again

Good post! It's good to know where you come from to know where you are and where you need to go from here. I agree with Steve's goals setting. Now the hardest part is connecting the dots! Good luck.

Hi Janet,

Thanks for the kind words in the comment you posted to my blog. It too is a work in process, since nothing is every really "done" when dealing with computers. There is always a "tweak" or two that can be done.
I am almost finished with my site for my first report, "Musings of a Newbie Internet Marketer". I just need to put the finishing touches on the squeeze page and test it. If you would like, I'll send you the link. You can check it out and feel free to comment on both the report and my site.

Hi Rod

Thanks for the comments and encouragement as well as the advice in the forum.

I agree that it is necessary to persevere to solve a problem; I recall when I got the plugin active that I did a bit of a dance!

I had a look at your site and you have certainly done a great job.

Cheers

Hi Janet.

I see perseverance pays off, you've managed to get your plug-in activated.
I remember when I first started, I knew nothing about even the simplest
tasks. With other's help I slowly began to get comfortable doing this.
Still learning though!

It takes time and determination to get through this difficult time, but well
worth it.

I had Joel help me with my first blog set up.
He is very good at his job and quite inexpensive depending on your budget.
If you want you can contact him here: This is not some affiliate link.
Just may help you.
joel@blogtechguy.com

The best way really is to learn it for yourself.
You feel so much better when you succeed.
Regards Rod.

Hi Steve
You are my very first comment! Yes I did take it live before i was finished.....Alex said just do it and start posting. So I did.
I will definitely try both the suggestions you made and I appreciate that you took the time and effort to do so.
And yes I am very new to it, so new that I don't know how to get your comment to show on my website. I have approved your comment, but for some reason it doesn't show. I am sure that I will eventually work it out.

Hi Janet,
I can see that this blog is still a work in process, that is GOOD! It means you took action by making it live before it was finished. A blog, like software is NEVER finished, it is constantly evolving. I agree with what you said about Host Gator and their support staff. I have always had great support from them regardless of how dumb a newbie issue I presented to them. I know what you mean about mis-placing user names and passwords, and I have a couple of suggestions for you in that regard. One is to create a spreadsheet (if you use Google Documents you can access your spreadsheet from any computer that you log into your Google account with) and keep track of the website URL, username and password. The other is some software called RoboForm. You can get it from http://tinyurl.com/35gonop. Yes that is an affiliate link, but it takes you to their main page where you can learn about it and download a free 30 day trial version. I believe they still have a free version that the trial version reverts to after it expires, but the free version is only good for storing information about 10 websites. I use it myself, I got the trial version then I let it expire simply because I didn't have the cash to purchase it. It still continued to work with my sites that were in it, but I couldn't add any new sites. It didn't take long of not being able to add sites for me to realize just how valuable a tool it really is. It is easily worth the $29.95 I paid for it. In case this starts to sound like a sales letter for RoboForm, it is NOT. It just has proven itself to me by using it. I don't know how many sites you have to manage log on credentials for and maybe your memory is a lot better than mine so just take it as a suggestion.
From the sound of your first post, it seems to me that you are relatively new to blogging and the whole Internet Marketing "thing". I am new to blogging also, but have been struggling with IM for a little over a year now. I get a "shot in the arm" so to speak when I get an occasional commission check. No, they aren't huge, I think the largest has been like $38.00 but it does prove to me that there is really money to be made. I just need to go get my "piece of the pie". Feel free to contact me through my blog OR since you as the administrator of this blog can see my email address, you can email me directly. Maybe we can be of help to each other in our journey.
